Global collaboration, multicultural learning and business operations over time zones
It's amazing to see our students so excited participating in the simulation game, together with other students
from various universities and countries.

The working in VIBu takes place in international dispersed teams,
with members from all over the world, with diverse cultural backgrounds.
These teams each operate their own simulation companies in real-time, with the help of synchronous communication tools.
In VIBu the different teams form a supply chain network, in which some of the teams are suppliers to the other ones.
This means that instead of a pure competition between the participating teams, the teams are also collaborators.
The human to human communication within and across the teams makes
VIBu very much different from traditional business simulations. In VIBu it is about supply chain
collaboration for mutual benefit instead of unnecessary juxtapositioning.
Our results show that the learning experience creates high trust between the virtual team members.
This is fruitful ground for learning about the challenges of virtual work,
multicultural collaboration and global supply chain management.
All these skills are ever more relevant and important for workers in the global world,
in which ability to communicate and collaborate internationally is a pre-requisite.
